Fork Union offers a quieter Central Virginia setting with access to both outdoor recreation and regional day trips. The community sits near the James River and is about 20 miles from Scottsville, a small riverfront town with local dining and paddling access. Richmond is roughly 65 miles east and provides museums, concert venues, and airport access for weekend travel. Shenandoah National Park is about 75 miles northwest, giving travelers access to Skyline Drive, hiking trails, and mountain overlooks.
