Description

WCG is looking for a self-motivated, career-oriented geologist with the ability to apply technical and critical thinking skills to meet our project demands and solve problems for our clients. We are looking for a team member with experience in groundwater monitoring well drilling and installation observation, lithologic logging, driller management, as well as geologic reporting and well permitting tasks. This position will also include periodic assistance with groundwater sampling, landfill gas probe monitoring, other media sampling and/or monitoring, general reporting and other field or office tasks as needed. The position is salaried with bonus opportunity and the work hours are targeting 45-50 hours per week, working approximately 20-30% in the field, with periodic out of town or out of state travel required based on drilling and/or field sampling schedules. This position requires 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in the solid waste industry.

Responsibilities:

• Provide field oversight of various drilling projects, including lithologic logging, monitoring well installation observation, driller management
• Provide periodic assistance with groundwater sampling or other field projects, as needed
• Champion quality and demonstrate leadership by personal high standards for work processes and products, and exemplary service to clients
• Prepare technical reports to a high quality to meet internal and client requirements
• Support fellow project team members by learning to manage tasks on behalf of senior management in a responsible and responsive manner
• Be open to professional development and growth potential opportunities including training in a variety of technical and project management areas and mentoring from senior staff

• Possess technical and problem-solving skills, and commitment to consistently perform high quality work

Requirements:

• Possess Professional Geologist (PG) certification
• Bachelor's degree in geological engineering or geology
• Able to lift up to 70 pounds
• 3-5 years in environmental consulting or other related field
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
